Kathryn and Patrick Bonner are both former GB international Acrobatic Gymnasts who have recently moved to the area to take up jobs at BG. As well as their own extensive competitive experience they have coached in schools and clubs at a recreational level and, with this new opportunity in our club, they are keen to provide competitive and festival opportunities for our members.

Acrobatic Gymnastics is a discipline that combines individual skills with partner balancing and dynamic elements packaged in floor routines to music. There are 5 categories: Men’s Pairs, Women’s Pairs, Mixed Pairs, Women’s Trio and Men’s Four. If you love gymnastics and also like being part of a team, then acrobatics is a great way to combine these things. There is also the advantage that tall or small; there are plenty of exciting options that acrobatics can offer you.

Sports Acrobatics

Park Wrekin College Gymnastic Club are delighted to announce that we are forming a Sports Acrobatics section. We would like to invite anybody interested in taking part in Sports Acrobatics to attend for a taster session on Friday 9th December at Lilleshall 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM. It is suitable for all levels, anybody who can do a cartwheel and handstand would be able to have a go, although not those gymnasts already involved in our Elite competitive section as it wouldn’t be possible to do both.

We anticipate the section operating twice a week, Tuesdays 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM and Friday 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM, led by Kathryn and Patrick Bonner who give a little more information about themselves and Sports Acrobatics below.

If you would like to take part in our taster session just turn up at Lilleshall on December 9th 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM. It will cost £5 each, there is no need to book in advance just come along. Non members are also welcome to attend.
